Revitalizing the Shophouses of Petaling Street
This project is an exploration on adapting built heritage to seed urban revitalization. Within the context of Kuala Lumpur, this dissertation focuses on the adapting the heritage shophouses of Petaling Street with the popular street market. Through heritage reinterpretation and spatial pattern understanding of Petaling Street, a design strategy is proposed for the shophouses to be re-adapted to suit its everyday condition.

On a personal note, I am passionately interested in the revitalization of Petaling Street's heritage. Given the lack of awareness in today's society regarding our heritage, I see my humble dissertation as a means to provoke an interest in adapting these old shophouses. This dissertation can be used as a design strategy, and also can be used in further research on heritage conservation.
